5-Minute Homepage Check

Five questions. One useful change. Open your homepage on your phone and look at it through a new visitor’s eyes.

No email required. Use this page or print the worksheet.

Your notes stay in this page. They are not sent or saved; printing is the way to keep them. Navigating away may clear them.

01

Can a visitor tell what you do and who you help?

Read the first screen. Could a new visitor name your service and recognise whether it fits their situation?

A useful fix: Name the service and customer situation in familiar words.

02

Is there a useful reason to choose you?

Look beyond “professional”, “quality” and “reliable”. Explain a real difference your customer values and you can deliver.

A useful fix: Describe a relevant specialism, defined process or clear handover. Support the promise.

03

Is there something credible to check?

Look for relevant work, real reviews or an example of your approach. Use genuine approved evidence.

A useful fix: Label fictional examples clearly. A demonstration is different from a client result.

04

Is the next step clear?

Can a visitor tell how to ask a question, request a quote or book? Is it clear what happens after the click?

A useful fix: Give the main action a clear label and briefly explain what happens next.

05

Does that step work on a phone?

Check readable text, usable controls and the contact destination. Avoid sending test enquiries to someone else’s business.

A useful fix: Repair a broken or confusing step before adding more elements.

What deserves attention first?

This is a practical self-check, not a validated score or a promise of more enquiries. After the change, look at visitor and enquiry evidence before deciding what to do next.
